Alright, you and I both know that when we're playing sports, and then have to go home and do all of our homework, it sucks. Nobody wants to do homework after getting out of practice. We obviously worked hard in practice, and we're tired and hungry when we finally get home. Then, after we eat, its not like we want to pick up a pencil and start writing an essay. duhhhhhh.
Apart from just being an activity, sports do offer several health benefits, thus giving a persons physical and mental well-being. Playing sports serves an excellent physical exercise that every person should have. No one would think this, but by playing sports, it improves the math skills in children. Everybody loves a competition, and that's what playing sports is all about. Im not saying that everyone has to play sports, but I think that they do help with your life, such as your social life. And come on, everyone wants to be in shape right? Running, doing drills, etc, that's going to make your body tone better.
To me, softball is life, and when its softball season, my whole mind is focused on it. And to you, you probably have a favorite sport too, where you just focus on that sport more than doing work. We don't really pay attention to our grades, until we get our progress reports, and then we get crap from our parents, which sucks. Many people would just say "Just quit the sport, and do your work." And im hoping that you would say no. We are in highschool, this is probably for most of us our last time being able to play a sport. Basically what im trying to say to you is that I think that sports should be an outside school activity during the evenings or the mornings. And I bet other people would agree with me because it makes sense.
If you had to try out and practice outside of school it would be and feel like a totally different environment. I think that people would have more fun with community sports, because you would meet new people, and it would be easier for you to make new friends. I know that there are a lot of sports fans out there that would love to watch their kids play for a community team. We could put our money that we use for school sports teams towards putting a community team together. Just think about how much better you would feel if you came home from school, focused on some homework, then maybe after dinner you would go to practice. Wouldn't that be easier for you? To me, its a great idea. I know that I would have way better grades if I actually had some time to do my work. Last night we had our practice at 6 to 8, and after school I went home and did my homework. In fact, I actually got alot done with the time that I had from 3-6. I love sports, so im obviously still going to play for my school, but I do believe 100% that it would be so much better for every student athlete if it was referred to as a "Community Sports club."
